OCI - longest wait

Frogley - thanks for restoring my faith in miracles. I'm still waiting for my OCI (applied in June 2015). I was beginning to think they were mythical. Let us know if yours is delivered by an elf riding a unicorn

BlueMan, please inform us too about any changes in your application's status I applied in August...so, if it takes 8-9 months then hopefully will get my card in April-May.

Yes i think it would be easier to get a signed first edition copy of the bible that sorting out one of these OCI things... The OCI arrived in Birmingham on the 11th, i went in person to hand over my passport on the 12th and I'm hoping the Elf will turn up on his Unicorn soon!! we shall see, will prob be this time next year!

My OCI arrived on the 21st!. They posted it along with my passport which I had dropped off in birmingham in order to have the obi sticker put in it... the passport came with no sticker!... I looked into it online and apparently you don't need to show your uk passport at Indian immigration... no idea why they didn't tell me this before I drove all the way to BIRMINGHAM! oh well at least I have it and the ordeal is now over! good luck everyone

I think you do need to show your UK passport (and OCI Card) at Indian immigration - the passport just doesn't need to have a sticker.

Nine Month Wait

I made my trip to Birmingham on 18 June last year, and yesterday (15 Feb), I was notified that my OCI had left Delhi. I'm not sure how long it will take to reach the UK, but (like pregnancy) it seems as though it took 9 months before any labour began.

Sweet_Lana - with luck, yours will arrive by May.

Nine Month Wait

Good luck Valenblr.

I made the trip to Birmingham last Tuesday to show my passport, and the OCI turned up in the post this morning.

One thing that puzzles me though - they made no changes to my passport, whereas my wife's has a sticker in it saying "Lifelong Visa". I'm hoping that is no longer required.

I just re-read some of these posts. Other people also have stickerless passports.

Anyone can help? 9 months are gone, but no OCI update. It's always "under-process" I have tried writing to the FRRO office but they also have no idea..

Oh my god, this is disheartening! I guess I'll just use the old PIO card as long as I can!
