Can anyone provide a timeline for OCI card in India? I have looked around the forum and I can only find timelines (but old threads) for UK, Canada and Switzerland. I wonder how long I will have to wait for the document to be processed in India. Any newer timelines: 2017, 2018?

When I applied for OCI card for my kids from within India it took about 60 days. However this was back in 2014. Right now my family member is waiting for more than 70 days and has still not got their OCI card. Currently the whole process is crawling due to a backlog.

It took my daughter less than 30days in delhi as she was born in india. Mine look maybe 60days as I had to resubmit my rental agreement as it had expired. My wife is Indian and I'm Japanese. This was in Feb 2017.

Thank you for the replies. I am hoping mine wont take longer than 2 months. I have a long duration visa, but I wanted to obtain the OCI fast so I can have more options. I dont want to be financially dependant on my husband for too long even if he is a high earner.

I cannot see anything on the VFS website. Maybe this issue is only limited to US applications. I do hope by the time I have to apply for the OCI, all their processes will be in tip top shape and I wont have to wait forever to have my card. One can only hope... I have spent the last 6 years in my life applying for various things and I had to go through the waiting stress every single time. Not a very nice feeling waiting for an outcome...

I share your pain. Yes, lets hope the whole process gets sorted out soon. However the problem right now is not just restricted to US applicants. I have a family member waiting in Europe for 75 days now.
