That is a good news Anuj. I am still waiting. Tweeting to namo and MEA has produced no results either. Very disappointing.

Hopefully the wait time for your wife's OCI card is going to be over soon. It really is a bit disappointing that it takes them this long to process it, especially when they say that it is normally done in 42 days. Maybe an updated notice on processing times would be helpful.

That said, it appears it took the OCI card almost a month and a half to travel from Delhi to our consulate. Finally the status updated to:

Applicant Name: <name>
File Acknowledgment Number: <number>
Date Of Acknowledgment: 06-AUG-2015
Registration Status at Mission: HAMBURG
OCI- Number: <number>
Documents Printing Status: PROCESSED On 12-JAN-2016
Dispatched From MOIA (OCI): NEW DELHI On 13-JAN-2016
Document received At: HAMBURG On 22-FEB-2016

So the old prediction of a week or so for the document's travel time was not correct.

The embassy has asked us to send them a postage paid self-addressed envelope, with which they will send the OCI card to us. Of course, this has been sent as well. Now to see how long before the card is actually in our hands. As of this writing it has taken exactly seven months for the whole process already. I am hoping that at seven and a half months we will finally reach the promised land.

I found this info on the immihelp website:

You can check the status of OCI by dropping an email to shettybn@nic.in.

But I have seen the progress in OCI card status only after I filed complaint in Public Grievance

http://pgportal.gov.in/grievanceNew.aspx

Once I filed the complaint I dropped an email to cons.atlanta@mea.gov.in with the Grievance Number. I got a reply immediately from Atlanta Consulate office from

Ramesh Kamra
Asst. Consular Officer
Consulate General of India
Atlanta

Which is appreciable.

Once card is received to CKGS you can escalate CKGS to speedup the process by mentioning the travel date.

Note: I have dropped an email to Atlanta Consulate on 15th Jan '16 and I received OCI card by 9th Feb '16.

Hope this information helps.
Perhaps something like this would help the situation with your wife's OCI card as well?

Anuj, If it makes you feel any better. Mrs GP's OCI finally came through. Status as follows

Applicant Name: <name>
File Acknowledgment Number: <number>
Date Of Acknowledgment: 25-JUN-2015
Registration Status at Mission: SYDNEY
OCI- Number: <number>
Documents Printing Status: PROCESSED On 12-FEB-2016
Dispatched From MOIA (OCI): NEW DELHI On 12-FEB-2016
Document received At: Still not updated.

We supplied a self addressed envelope with the initial application and OCI just turned up in the mail. It took almost eight months for the whole process.

I am glad to hear that it turned up, since this is all that matters. Hope this will make traveling to India a breeze in the future. :-)

It should be there at the Embassy now. Give them a call.
