Appreciate if anyone could help me on this.

A few months I thought I lost my Indian passport and also I have filed FIR then I applied for a replacement on oct 21st. Today I found my passport.
Now, can you tell me the next steps I should take?

Now should I be reaching out to BPO/police and tell them I found my passport then can I cancel my re-applied passport?
I can wait to get the new passport and show the existing one as damaged passport. Is that possible?

Any help or info in this matter would be of great help.

It's better you ask the authorities to cancel your application. You may have to face some music from the cops and the passport office.

Your old passport would already have been cancelled so just don't mention anything about it and get the new one processed. Trying to cancel the new application is much more of a hassle

I agree. Keep the old one as a souvenir, keep quiet about it (categorically, never try to use it, of course: make sure you don't get confused) and go with the new one from now on.
