Nuts have threads inside them, else how will you tighten them on bolts?

Those nuts are run-of-the-mill nuts. My nuts were much more special.

Well, it was fifty-five years ago

Family site, folks, family site!

Walt Whitman - Song of Myself

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

Of course there are. Damn fools. We'll soon disabuse them of that nonsense.

And now for something really OT - The Shadows with Foot Tapper. At 00:27 there is a picture of Cliff Richard with the Shadows.

As what can only be described as a feeble attempt to avoid a mod zilching this as OT never mind OTT, can I pose the serious enquiry to movie buffs that that all Bollywood song and dance movies had their origin in this piece of fluff?

Cliff of course, spent his childhood in India............

Blacklisted in India

This thread is so far removed from its origin that we could probably post anything here. Shall we start with the cat pictures now?

There was an interesting and potentially useful conversation about NGOs that could either have been split off or added to that other NGO thread.

Now... Let's go with the cats.

(Summer Holiday used to be on the TV every year or so. I enjoyed it. Now I can't remember anything except the song. Where did they go? What did they do? Volunteering in the schools of Clacton-on-Sea? Taking that famous foreign compassion to the fringes of Essex? )

My first thought was "mods" and "rockers" and Summer Holiday* is definitely "mod".

Bombay song and dance films originated in the early thirties.

Indrasabha holds the world record for the most number of songs (72) in any musical ever made.
*I watched it as a teenager at Odeon theatre at Dehradun. Anyone remember that place? Its origins go back to the days of silent films.
