I used to live with my parents till 2016. Thereafter we are estranged and I no longer speak to them or meet them. I shifted in with my fiancee in 2016.

She has her own residence in a corporate housing society. So I stayed with her from jul 2016 onwards. Mind you, this is not illegal since she owns the place. I was not living on rent.

We got married in September 2018 and I managed to somehow change my Aadhar and pan card address to my wife's address using the marriage certificate and letters from an MLA.

I've also recently changed my bank account address after getting the Aadhar done.

My wife instantly received her passport with my name in the spouse section, but I had a change address needed so it went for PCC.

The police is stating I need to show proof from society that I was living here for 2 years (AS I CLAIMED) and I have no proof nor is society willing to give since they 'had not been told officially that I was living with my fiancee two years back'. They can only provide an noc stating i live with my wife from SEP 2018 as per marriage certificate.

I have no previous bills under my name or any address proof that dates back to one year under my wife's address. In fact I had to get married to legally change my address to my wife's residence in the first place.

I've supplied my new Aadhar, pan, wife's identity details, marriage certificate and her bills from the last year stating she is a resident. But the police insists I show proof under my name by the society

Please help. What am I supposed to do in this scenario?

You have one option: to get your application withdrawn, wait for one year and then reapply.

Another option is: if your work in any reputed company, you may take a letter from employer stating your current address.

Please note, you must be carrying at least one valid address proof

I am applying for immigration with my wife. I can't withdraw my application as I need my passport literally asap.

And I'm self employed for the last four years.
Is there no way to explain to either the police or RPO about this?

You may clearly tell whole story to the officers and leave it on them what they decide. But, chances are remote...
