Me and My family (all Indian citizen, holding Indian passports) living in Singapore for more than 8 years.

In Nov 2012 we had to travel India urgently and at Immigration I noticed, my minor daughter's passport (previously issued in Singapore) validity would be less than 6 months, when we would be back in Singapore (after 3 weeks trip). So I decided to renew her passport from Delhi under tatkal scheme using my father's address as we don't other address in India.

Luckily before our return date, my daughter got passport and happily we came back to Singapore.

Now here story starts,

After we returned, Police verification was done ( not sure why? as kid was minor, Spouse name were present on my and my wife's passport and her passport was reissued with same old passport address)

As we were already back, my father told police that she went back.

After 1 year he received letter from Passport office that Police verification is pending also asked to submit 3 personal particular form)

I check with Indian High commission in Singapore, they asked me to write letter to Indian passport office stating, whenever I would visit India, also visit Passport office to complete the process. I followed their instruction and sent all detail via email and speed post with following documents

1. Passport copy.
2. Visa status
3. Immigration chops from both India and Singapore

Now we are planning to visit India for 1 or 2 weeks but only few days in Delhi and rest travelling to other cities.

Now questions are

1. if I visit Passport office and ask for Police re-verification, how much time re-verification will take, (remember after 3-4 day we would leave Delhi) and if Police verification done after that same story

2. In personal particular form asking detail to fill address if not living at permanent address, Which address should I provide? as we are living in Singapore.

(If you have not been resident at the address given at COLUMN 8(b) continuously for the last one year,
please furnish other address(es) with duration(s) resided (Please furnish an additional set of P P Forms
for each address with Police station.) ? Police station? will they do verification in Singapore?

3. If Police verification not completed what issue we could face?

Thanks
MK

MK, your first priority should be to get your (means your daughter's) documents corrected.

So please devote majority part of you travel for the purpose. If possible, please extend the duration of your visit, so that you may devote more time if required.

You should be providing Singapore address as current address. You may provide your parents address as permanent address, if the case is so.

Please do not tell lie and do as suggested/directed by the officers.

You may also write to the RPO in advance with a copy of your travel plan. It may help you in getting things sped up.
