Dear Members

Please read the following carefully. I need as many genuine solutions possible.

My passport expired two months back. So I applied for re issue at Chennai. During my visit to PSK, the lady informed me that when I had first obtained the passport, my PV was incomplete. I had obtained my passport somewhere in 2007-08. As things were done in manual fashion, I got my passport, even though the PV was incomplete. But this time it had to be done properly and only then my Passport shall be printed.

Unfortunately, I had to leave Chennai and join my new job in Odisha. As if this wasn't enough, the person from police station came at a time when my parent were out of station. The person from police station called me and I told him my situation. My father too, went to the station but could not meet the inspector, later he had a conversation on the phone with the person. After all this, my current passport status shown as "Police Verification Report is not clear and application is under review at Regional Passport Office."

My father went to the RPO, but found out that the applicant has to come in person to further resolve the issue. Further he was told by an agent outside the RPO that the application has to be submitted at my present address and I need to close this file in Chennai by appearing in person and only then I shall be able to re-apply. I may also be fined for this confusing situation. What shall I do now. How to get my passport reissued.

I am planning to contact the Chief Passport officer. But hoping to get some solution / suggestion here.

Please do not involve any agent while a passport is in process. They only mess up the case.

In stead you should visit RPO and submit an application stating your current position. You may also submit a copy of your appointment letter.

You may ask the RPO in another application to close your file so that you could apply afresh in Odisha. And, yes, you will have to remain physically present for these activities.
