PCC for NRI
Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm an Indian national. My first passport was issued in Hyderabad, and since then I've lived in the UK (second passport issued in London), and now live in France (third passport issued in Paris last year). My permanent address in all these passports is the same one in Hyderabad.
I now need a PCC for French residence permit, and applied for it at the Indian Embassy in Paris over two weeks ago. I checked with the Embassy regarding the delay, and they said that my file has been sent to India for verification.
I was wondering who I can contact (through my parents) in Hyderabad to expedite the process. Would it be the police commisionerate in Hyderabad, or the local police station?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Typically it would be the FRRO since it's HYD. Thank you for the replies.
I contacted the local police station, and they redirected me to the Special Branch of Hyderabad Police, who then redirected me to the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate office. The Commissionerate office had no trace of my file, and was wondering if the request went to RPO Hyderabad. So I'll now try to get in touch with them.

None of the online status checks (RPO and Hyderabad Police services) are applicable in my case, as my request was not filed directly with them.
The only web-based update I can get is from VFS in France, who can say no more than "application is under processing at the Indian Embassy".

After a long wait of nearly two months, I finally received my PCC.
The main delay was the back-and-forth exchange between the Indian authorities in Paris and in Hyderabad. I'll summarize the main points for future reference here.
The request was initially sent my the Indian Embassy to several police authorities in my home-city. This reached the city special branch after some delay, but it was apparently missing some information. The special branch sent a request to the Embassy, but the response to this seems to have been lost somewhere. I contacted the authorities in India several times, and also requested the Embassy to resend the request. In the end, a visit from my father to the special branch was necessary to check on the status. A police verification was done right away, and the report was forwarded to the local RPO. The RPO then sent this report to the Embassy, which was sufficient to issue the PCC.

Hello,
I live in Toulouse and I am going to apply for the PCC at the VFS Marseille.
The original passport and titre de séjour are also listed in the documents to be submitted at the VFS office in order to apply for a PCC. My doubt is that will they keep my original passport and titre de séjour with them until my PCC is ready ? Or will the VFS give them back to me right away on the day of appointment after veryfying the Photocopy?
Could you please help me with this question? Did they keep your passport and titre de séjour with them for all those months ?
Thank you so much
