Hello,

I have visited the PSK at ITO Delhi on 8 Jan 2018. All went well there. The counter B officer directly asked me to proceed towards the exit counter.

The police verification is mentioned as N/A. I thought I would soon get an update from them but the status still reads "Passport application has been submitted along with applicable fees and supporting documents.".

Its been a week's time and no change in status. What shall be done? I am a bit worried as I need the passport max by this month end.

Seniors kindly help. Regards.

Yeah, the documents are in order but even the police verification is not initiated as yet. I think they didn't even open the file. I visited the PSK yesterday, as per them, the file has been submitted for police verification. Contacted the police station, they hvent received anything as of now! Not sure which door to knock now.

You have earlier mentioned, "The police verification is mentioned as N/A." It means, PV will not take place in this case.

Hi,

I had submitted my passport re-issue application at Ghaziabad RPO on 11 Jan 2018. The application status if online portal is "Passport application has been submitted along with applicable fees and supporting documents.".
I talked to customer care regarding the status as it was not updating, they told me that the application doesn't reached PSK and I should take appointment again to check what happened to my application.
In the receipt that I had got from RPO, the application status was "File Accepted", also I didn't got any communication from RPO regarding any problem in the application.

When I try to take appointment again I get message "You cannot schedule an appointment as the processing of your application at Camp is already complete. In case of any queries, please contact the Call Centre."

Please help me what should I do?

Regards,
Kamlesh

It is not clear in your post, where did you actually submitted your application - RPO or PSK. An applicant has to submit application form at PSK.

Please note, Passport HelpLine never speaks the way you have mentioned. Further, once application is submitted, you can't submit it again.

I submitted the application at RPO, as in appointment availability the nearest date was of RPO . They told me that RPO sends the applications to PSK. When I called the customer care, the executive told me that the application is still at RPO and I need to take appointment again and meet them to check what the matter is. But now the portal is not allowing to take the appointment again. Shall I wait for some time to get the status updated? or shall I visit the RPO?
Please suggest.

Please note, RPO can't accept application form as they are not authorised to do so.

Anyway, to whom did you handed over aapplication? And did they give you receipt of acceptance? Further, please note, you can't reapply when one application is pending for consideration.

While selecting the appointment date I got two options of available timings, "Ghaziabad PSK" and "Ghazibad RPO". I chose Ghaziabad RPO as it was nearer date, and submitted my application there. The process of submitting the documents in RPO is similar to PSKs, but RPOs also send the documents to PSK for further processing. Today I again called the customer care and they again told me to visit the RPO and check with them why my file is not forwarded to PSK.
Tomorrow I will visit the RPO and will update here.

Regards,
Kamlesh

Okay, thanx for new information.

At other places documents are collected by the PSK and then sent to RPO for processing. RPO (Regional Passport Office) issues passport after completion of police verification.

You are right that the file is send from PSK to RPO. But when I had first visited the RPO for application submission, at that time they told me that RPO sends the application to PSK for processing (don't know why they said this). Anyways if we are directly submitting the application to RPO then processing should be faster, but it is the other way round.

Today I went to the RPO for enquiry. They told me that my file is the queue and there are already more files to be processed above me. In the enquiry they gave me a form to fill and submit there. Surprisingly just after I came back from RPO the status was updated to "Passport application is under review at Regional Passport Office.".

As per my experience with this, I think that the entire process of passport issuance time is different at different RPOs depending upon the number of applications.

@Prakaant: Thanks for your valuable inputs
