I used to stay in Delhi since 7-8 years on same address and got the passport on that address 5 months back. Then changed address to noida for personal reasons and got a chance to work abroad in Kuwait and required PCC . Then I applied for pcc from noida and they said it will take 20 days as Address is different from address on passport. The next day I applied again keeping delhi as current address(lied here) and got the pcc the same day. But I got a call during verification process from noida to which I said I dont require pcc as visit visa donít say that. With that I went abroad and thought problem is solved.
Now today I got a letter from passport office that my police verification reports is adverse and had to give reasons for denying verification and to submit valid reasons with passport in enquiry.
Now I donít now and afraid what to tell them. Should I tell the truth that I lied that I stayed in Delhi to get pcc the same day. Or should lie again saying I really shifted back to delhi after applying from Delhi . Just yesterday I came back to India for leave of 10 days.
Within 1 week again I have to go to Kuwait . What should be done please suggest.

Tell them the truth and be ready to face consequences if any.

Venky, tell the truth. I can understand your apprehension about telling the truth. One lie is bad enough, but telling multiple lies is worse. If you get caught telling multiple lies the repercussions will probably be more severe.

Best of luck, please keep us updated on what you did and how things worked out.
Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

Telling truth is only option you have in your hands. If you tell truth, there will be a fine of Rs 5,000 and a warning.

Government has multiple resources to check the facts. If they find that you are a habitual offender, they may even confiscate your passport.

You are a newcomer to the forum, and you don't know people here yet. We have some people with lots of visa experience; we have some people with lots of railway, flying, bus, car, bike, etc etc experience. With experience, you can come to know and recognise whose replies are absolutely reliable on certain subjects.

Understandably, you need an answer now. You don't have time to spend six months getting to know us. The best I can do is to point out that Prakaant has taken the trouble to become well-informed on Indian-passport matters, Aarosh is a good source of general wisdom. Professorm is a senior academic in USA with lots of international experience. All are Indian: they know what they are talking about.

The message is that, at this point, you may have committed a minor offence. Anything else but clearing up that situation with simple truth may lead you into serious trouble.

You have been told. Now just do it!

(Or not: it's your life, your passport, etc etc. Your choice)

You will have a binary outcome. You will walk through to your plane. You will be detained.

You will walk through: You better never ask for any service from indian mission in Kuwait, for their screen will show a wilful disregard for inquiry from Passport Office. You do know, your high school course on Social Studies/Government right ? Passport Issuance is a MEA function.

You will be detained:
You will be fined at best. Passport cancelled and denied another TD for X years.

A truth now will save you multiple griefs later.
