Exit permit fee by 1 day

Yes, Surya, I mentioned to him that FRRO has the power to do what he needs. As I understand it, though, it is discretionary. So he cannot count on it until he (they) have that permission to remain stamp in their passports.

IIRC, it is in one of those "powers delegated to FRRO" documents. It has been quoted on the site.

Indeed, they have committed no offence yet. And will not have done until the day after visa expiry. But... He insists that he is going to, whatever! And, if that simple request to FRRO, there is no proper report if they did it.

I think yes, a visa extension of a few days is possible at the FRRO or FRO. I think the key is to go in there with lots of time to spend waiting and returning on successive days, with a very humble attitude. If you have good luck and the officer feels your situation is genuine, they do have the power to give visa extensions of a few days (I think it is up to 15 days.)

This does not apply to e-visas, only to regular tourist visas. Other visas are usually extendible by more. E-tourist-visas are not extendible whatsoever.

I think the OP alluded to the fact that, he is not alone, there might be many more in the group in a similar situation ? Or, did I interpret it wrong ?

He did. I don't think he specified if family or group, but there is more than one of them.

Once assumes that if the authorities look kindly on the case, they might do so for all. Or not, if not.

But, along with other single-question posters who pop in just to be told they are right, and pop out again when that doesn't happen, I suppose we'll never know what transpires.
