Hello

In my passport my name is printed as: ABHISHEK RAMVIJAY
in X marksheet (and all other certificates and ID cards): ABHISHEK
my father's name as on X marksheet : RAMVIJAY

my ques are:
1.what should i do...should i go to passport office to change my name to ABHISHEK??
2.should i make an Affidavit that my earlier name was ABHISHEK and new name is ABHISHEK RAMVIJAY???
3.is there any loss if I remove my surname from my passport and make it as it is on my X marksheet??

The important thing is which of the two is correct. And how did the name on the passport come about if that is not what you wanted?

Choose one that you want to live with and get the other documents changed to confirm.

Next question

What is the purpose of a passport for you? Studies/Job abroad?

Foreign missions/institutions/colleges may need the BC and may object because the name on passport does not match the one on your credentials/educationals and the BC.

Abhishek, to change the name in the passport, you will have to apply for a "Re-issue" of passport and get the specified change done in the personal particulars.
