I have my Passport at an older address and the Passport is set to expire in 2018. If I apply for reissuing the passport with Address change to a new address, will the new passport have expiry date changed as well?

I am planning to move to Europe through my employer in next 4-5 months and hence wanted this clarification.

You really want to get all your paperwork done before heading out. Most countries wont let you in or atleast raise an eyebrow if you have less than 6 months passport validity and arrive at the border with an employee or immigrant visa.

Also applying for change in details while also doing a passport renewal abroad for an indian passport can be a 3 month experience while you ait around holding a small paper recepit and no passport hoping for the best.

Yes, new passport will have new validity period of 10 years

Yes, your new passport will have new validity period of 10 years from the date of issuance.

You will have to apply for reissue of passport mentioning the reason of "Change in Address". And will have to submit documents required for the same.

You will have to mention all the addresses where you have lived during last one calendar year.
