Hello botty It is very simple even you can also calculate the dates of lathmar or laddu maar holi. It is never published but can be calculated based on Moon phases.
In case you know the exact date of Holi Celebration, then the following is the method to calculate the dates:
1. Laddu Maar holi is on 8th day of bright half of Lunar just before Holi. It is around 8 days before Holi date. This year Holi is on 17th Mar so Laddu-Maar is on 9th.
2. Lath-Maar at Barsana is on the next day of Laddu-Maar. i.e. on 10th Mar
3. Lath-Maar at NandGaon is on the next day of Lath-Maar at Barsana.
4. Celebrations at Vrindavan is on the next day of above i.e. on 11th day of bright half of Moon.
Hi all,
Interesting thread. A friend of mine is going to be in India for Holi, but she'll most likely be in the South or travelling up the west coast, somewhere between Trivandrum and Mumbai. I've got a feeling Holi is better in the North, but does anyone have a suggestion for a good place for my friend to enjoy the festivities?
Thanks, G

Hey Bob, Normally it's safe to celebrate where you have groups of guys and girls.
avoid stags and getting into any situations.
people love to entertain foreigners on festivals and they are welcoming too.
just take care that you get invited by a good clan.
what I suggest that go to a posh area and contact the manager of that colony that you want to celebrate Holi with the residents.
they will arrange for you accordingly and i hope You guys would enjoy getting from white to multi-colored.

Staying @ Barsana during Lath Maar
Hi Kamal,
I actually have planned my travel to Barsana / Vrindavan, as you have suggested. This being my first visit to Mathura region, I am clueless as to stay facilities. I am wondering if i can simply walk into a Hotel / Dharamsala which can be safe for my photo equipment. (i am least fussy about hotel cleanliness, though would prefer western WC
)
Can you suggest a place to stay put the night of 9 @ Barsana?!
Rahul

Hi Rishabh,
Ive just gotten back from Vrindavan and Barsana.
The celebrations are on till 17th. So you still have time to catch up with.
Do carry enough poly-bags and cling film to cover your gear.
As for accommodation you can try Hotel Shubham holidays or Hotel Majesty.
Rest you can find out the places where they would be celebrating each day.
cheers.
Both the hotels are at Vrindavan
