Hey all-knowing forum, I've got a techie question. I'm teaching some street kids to make video diaries and would love to show them some examples. Trouble is we have no internet access so I need to download a few samples from YouTube and BBC's Video Nation. I've got a Mac OSX and I've tried about 4 apps and nothings worked (and class is tomorrow!). I even tried Video Nation directly who were lovely but no help. I promise this is for a good cause and not just illegally downloading people's work for the fun of it

thank you!

Don't know how to handle Video Nation but there is a very easy way to save Youtube videos. Go to this site - - and enter the URL for the Youtube clip into the download box. You will then be given the option to save the clip in FLV (low quality) or MP4 (high quality) format.

It's also worth downloading eRightsoft's video conversion software - called "Super". Works very well, handles a huge range of file formats, and it's free. Handy for converting video and audio files for using in gadgets like mobile phones and MP4 players
