Hi there,

I bought a sim 29 days ago with the 199INR daily plan (gives unlimited calls, 1.4GB a day, and 100 SMS). Unfortunately the plan has now expired so I need to repurchase this.

I had to use ezetop.com to top up my account as the app only accepts Indian credit cards. However, my balance is now 333INR on the app, but whenever I try make the purchase, I get told there is a technical issue (images below).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this? I've tried calling airtel but it all seems automated!

Thanks for the help,
Logan

Actually I am having a very similar problem with Vodafone - unable to load the new plan and unable to get the customer care to really help me with it.
I suggest you use the social media - twitter, to get through to the operator. I suspect it may have got something to do with the Aadhar linking deadlines for mobile numbers.
I got a response, but not a solution with the above method. So still waiting for the plan to kick in.

I am having trouble making sense of your question. To get the plan you must top up with Rs. 199. You appear to know that you cannot top up on the Airtel app with a foreign credit card. So you cannot top up with Rs. 199.

If you are trying to buy a data plan using the balance already on the SIM, I don't believe you can do that using the Airtel app or the Airtel web page. To do that, you have to dial *121# or maybe *123# and then follow the menus to where you can select a data plan. (Not all data plans are offered through the USSD menus.)

You can also go to any recharge store and pay them Rs. 199 in cash. Both these methods work only within India, but I assume you are within India because why else would you need a data pack.

PS Your images aren't showing.

PPS If you are in India, ezetop is a ripoff since there is a much easier method, go to any refill store and pay them in cash. That way you can also get exact refills such as Rs. 199.

Thanks for the reply RPG. I think you have answered my question in your response. I wasn't aware I needed to be topped up exactly 199rupees to buy the pack. I assumed if I had more than that in my balance, then that would have allowed me to purchase it. I will head to a recharge store, but had heard of people having trouble there too. Reason I used ezetop is because I needed to top open my wife's sim for when she landed in India and needed too call me / order an Uber.

Again, thanks for the help.

No need to spend more money. Since you've already put money in your account, you can use it to buy a pack on *121#. As said, the Rp 199 pack may not be available there, but I think there's now a similar Rp 349 pack, which will use up your balance.

Edit: Whoops, I see you haven't quite got Rp 349. But add a bit and you will.

But having a sufficient balance DOES allow you to purchase data packs, as stated in two posts above. You just can't do it through the app, you have to do it by dialing *121# and navigating the resulting menus.

??? You are in India ? Just go to any store that does it - Give them the number, and the amount.

After re-reading your post(s) I am to surmise that the SIM in question is not in India at the present moment ? It's a bit confusing from your post ! The amount the SIM holder has ( ₹333) should be enough to call you from the airport. As to Uber, I know so many folks in India, who call an Uber on behalf of others for pickup. So you could do it, being in India from your own phone.
