WBTDC Hill Top tourist lodge,Kalimpong

Hi all,
Can you tell me the exact location / address of WBTDC Hill Top tourist lodge in Kalimpong? How far it is from main area?
Is there any spot to see nearby the lodge in walking distance? What are the nearby land marks?

There is a DGHC bunglow at Dello. It is a hilltop.

You can stay at Morgan House of WBTDC also. Both are very good. I have stayed at Morgan House.

Hi aheli,

Firstly I would say , you have chosen the Best Place to stay (in terms of value for money) in Kalimpong . Very nice location .. Amazing views of the ranges from the front rooms .. Hope you'll have a nice time over there & take us also to the place through your nice TR , once you come back . Looking forward to get the latest info about the place from you .. :)

Now your queries : ( I spent 2 Nights there more than 10 years ago .. I heard recently the Lodge has undergone a renovation ) The location is out of the city .. as far as I Remember the place is around 2/3 Kms away from the Town Area, in a superb serene location .. But nothing to be worried . There are Shared Jeeps to the Hilltop .. It takes only 5 / 10 Minutes to reach there from the Town . Return Shared cabs are also available (From Hilltop to the town). And I think any Exclusive Car from the town to the Lodge would not cost more than 400 Rs for a dropping & if you book an exclusive cab for the sightseeing purposes (through the reception of the lodge) , they will not charge anything extra for this extra 3/4 Kms .. Hope this info would help you in your planning .. Best of luck for your trip .. :)

Hill top tourist lodge can be booked online from WBTDC website

Yes, the link provided by abhinanda is correct. That's the official online booking portal of WBTDC . But for the past 3/4 days Whenever I entered into the site I noticed that the "Lodge Selection" drop box menu on that page is not showing any Lodge in the list (although it was working perfectly 15/20 days ago ) .

Are all the rooms of all the Lodges of WBTDC fully booked for the next 3 Months or So ? Or is it just a S/W problem ?

Can any one put some light on this ?

I had booked wbtdc hill top from their Tourism office at BBD Bag in early of August.
Because, their online booking site was going under renovation that time and on line booking was closed.
I have not entered their online booking site recently.... but, may be the renovation is still not completed? :p

Thank you for encouraging :). This trip is my dream trip as this is my first trip to mountains and wholly planned by me.. I wanted to book Morgan house, but it was fully booked and so we booked hill top.
Surprisingly, the location/address of hill top tourist lodge is not available in internet not in google map

Sure I will post TR, but it will be more photos than sentences... as I am poor in describing.

Location of Morgan house is awesome (I find better than Hilltop)...It is in army area and Army golf course is just opposite to it. And good motorable road passes by it.
Since I did not stayed at Morgan house cannot tell about food quality, service etc, but heard it is of good quality too.

I stayed at Hill top, which on a little off road but awesome location too. If you get lucky for weather you get to see valleys and Mt. K from the lawn and balcony of the lodge. It is renovated recently, floors are wooden, bathrooms are just perfect, all the western facilities are available.
Plus points are : foods which are of awesome taste.. good service... quiet environment..majestic feeling of heritage bungalow staying.

Now it is your call to choose :)
