Kurseong which is locally known as Kharsang means place of white orchid. Despite our desire to stay there we hesitate because we don't get any detail information about the place. At last we decided to stay Kurseong for one and a half day.

Next three days stayed at Darjeeling. One day we spend at Mirik.

We (me and my hubby) went for a 7days holiday from 12th Feb 2015 to 19th Feb 2015. Our journey began on 12th Feb and ended on 19th Feb.

12th Feb : Our train scheduled at 7.35 evening from Sealdah. We made reservation at Uttarbanga Express. Reached NJP at right time i.,e. 7íO clock morning.

13th Feb : Reached NJP at 7íO clock morning and got out of the station. We started looking for shared cab towards Kurseong. Donít get any Kurseong bound cab. Darjeeling-NJP taxi took us to Kurseong on cost of 175 per head where as from NJP to DJ fare is 200 per head. We waited for 1Hr to fill all the seats. We took first two seats just beside the driver. Kurseong reached at about 9.30.

We didnít book any hotel. We began to find budget clean hotel. After finding lots of hotels we checked in Pradhan Guest House for 13th and 14th. Tariff was Rs.950 per day. For two days we paid him Rs. 1800. Mr. Pradhan became our guide for Kurseong. He told us freshen up and go for Eagleís Craig and Bose Museum. Kurseong is walking around place. We were going for Eagleís Craig which is maximum 1Km from our Hotel which is just 20meters from Kurseong station. The view was mesmerized us from Eagleís Craig. After spending some time at Eagleís craig we were back to Kurseong Railway station. We took luch at station canteen with TIPO. TIPO is a Nepali food looks like a big MOMO. Filling used for TIPO was half sliced egg and chicken mince. Price of TIPO was 25 with a bowl of soup. Tea was Rs. 5 per cup.
At 2nd half of our day we went Bose Museum. Itís located at Gidhha pahar which is almost 4Km from Kurseong station. We reached Gidhha by following toy train track. Photography is prohibited there. And we didn't get any caretaker. Some local children were playing in front of museum. But the museum is well maintained. Shoes are taking off to enter the museum. At Museum :
1. Furniture used by Netaji
2. INA uniform replica
3. Letters from Netaji to Rabindranath Tagore and vice versa.
4. Letters from Nehru.
5. Shoulder insignia used by INA
6. Photos of Netaji and family
7. Photo of Netaji , last picture on 17th August 1945.
8. Tree planted by Sarat Bose.
After spending some time to sit in front of Museum was very peaceful and view was spectacular. Way to museum from Gidhha view point is almost 60 degree gradient. Returned to the hotel at 4.30 pm. We got our dinner at Kurseong Palace Hotel which is a bit cheap.
Mr. Pradhan told us to go for a trek tomorrow morning. Our next morning destination would be DILARAM -> BAGORA -> CHIMNEY -> DEORALI -> DOW HILL -> KURSEONG. Total 12Km distance.

Great start and nice snaps. Waiting for the remaining portion of the TR.

Swati thanks for the pictures.

The fog and the gloomy climate is an attractive call for me who is getting blazed in the heat of Mumbai here.
