I will be staying in Darjeeling for two days. The places I wish to visit are the Zoo, Happy Valley Tea Estate and Rock Garden.

1. Can I book a car for 5 members and make a trip to these places or do I have to choose from the 5 point or 7 point packages only?

2. How far is the Japanese Peace Pagoda and the Dali Monastery from Mall? Is it possible to walk down the distance to visit these places? Or do we have to take the car?

Please help me with your valuable suggestions.

Zoo and the rock garden fall under the 5 point or the 7 point tours favoured by the tour operators. They may possibly be persuaded to include Happy valley estate in their tour. You may even customise you tour accordingly.

Japanese Peace Pagoda is perfectly walk-able if you stay near the Jalapahar hill area. Dali monastery is slightly outside of the main town. I guess it depends on how much you may walk and where you stay.

Its possible. If we don't go entire Darzeling, Kalimpong, kurseong etc for 3 to 5 years then MORCHA realize the tourist power. After 5 years MORCHA invite us (Tourist) otherwise they will hungry for lifetime. I hope if all the tourist pause their tour plan for Darzeling, Kalimpong, kurseong then stop this violation. No body like Central Govt. or State Govt. can do this. If anyone can stop violation on PAHAR, their are TOURIST.
