Hello,

I just came to know that darjeeling is having strike (bandh) on 14th and 15th March.

I am in darjeeling from 11th to 14th march...I will leave to gangtok on 14th march early morning (like 8 AM)...Any type of transport will be available or not during that time ? Buses or Shared jeeps or taxis ?

Gorkha Janamukti Morcha, the party that called the strike, have already toned down their voice. In the worst case, you may have to plan to leave on the previous day.

hardikjogi,
Keep your eyes on the press. As mousourik says, things fluctuate.

Don't change your travel plans, just keep up to date. Good luck.

Hi,
I will leave for Darjeeling on 17th March. I didn't cancel the ticket yet. But really dont know what to do.
They already toned down their voice but probably still they did not call off the strike. And I have my little daughter with me, so really worried about the same.

Yesterday, I heard from a source that, they will be calling strike from 8th of March for 15-20 days. Could not validate the same from any newspaper or news channel though.
Can anybody throw some light?
