Dear All,

I have been following this forum for quite some time, in hopes of planning a trip for three days in January for Darjeeling. We will be a group of 4 people (2 couples). While I have gained a lot of information regarding travelling (Never been to Darjeeling during winters), I would urgently need to know the following for staying:

1. Out of the hotels Sinclairs, Dekeling and Mayfair, which one would be better (service wise) in January?

2. I have been told that even in the bigger hotels, the room heaters do not work well during January and February. Is that true? Can anyone shed some light on it?

Kindly help.

Thanks in advance,
J

Culture is different everywhere, desperately trying to get somebody to a hospital is considered urgent, or even being in India and realising your visa runs out tomorrow and your flight is not for another 3 days, that could be considered urgent, but looking into a hotel for 6 months time.....
