Week-end trip to Gangrel Dam

Hi all,

I 'm planning a weekend trip to Gangrel Dam,located in Dhamtari district along with my friends in the month of August.

Looking for information regarding cost for food and lodging and contact no of Chhattisgarh Tourism Bungalow, so that I can book in advance.

I've also heard about the Angar Eco Adventure Camp in Gangrel. Can anyone provide any information about this Camp?

About transport -

I heard that there is a narrow gauge train that runs between Raipur and Dhamtari.

1. is it a good option to avail?

2. what is the time schedule of this train? as we'll reach Raipur around 9am in the mmoring.

3. what is the cost and journey time if we hire a Sumo or jeep from Raipur all the way to the Chhattisgarh Tourism Bunglow at Gangrel?

I can only offer couple pieces of advice:
a) Between Raipur and Dhamtari there're buses every half hour. Very close to raipur railway station there're three bus companies, mahindra travels, Kanker travels and one more that have buses till Jagdalpur. These buses will stop at Dhamtari. It will be more convenient certainly than a train (you can get a bus when you reach - I took one around 11 am).

b) In CG tourism raipur office (number is on their site), there's a Mr Jain and Mr Mulay who are helpful (speak in hindi please). You may get other details such as booking the bungalow from them.

Thanks a lot for your advices. I think I'd rather go all the way to Gangrel from Raipur station, will hire a car for that.

The CG tourism website was nice, I got the accommodation details and contact no. from there. I will surely talk to Mr Jain and Mr Mulay about the booking once the no. of heads from my end gets confirmed.

I've also heard about the Angar Eco Adventure Camp in Gangrel. It would have been even better if you could give me any information about this place, anyways, thanks again for whatever you have come up with.
