Hi!

Looking to get from Chandigarh to Haridwar in a couple days. Was wondering the best option. This is what I see from my research:
a) overnight bus on UTC (9:00pm-4:00am)
b) train CDG to LRJ and taxi (how much would that be?)
c) someone on the forums mentioned an HRTC bus but couldn't find it on their website.

Are there any other options/day busses? Thanks for all your help!

Why not take a train from Ambala to Haridwar? Train 14712 (Chair car train) shows availability on 4th December in CC as well as 2S.

Thanks for the response. I understand that Ambala is 45km from Chandigarh so would it be best to train there and transfer trains? If so how much time would I need in between?

Chandigarh to Haridwar you will find Buses anytime. Just go to Bus Station and buses available. Chandigarh to Ambala by Bus around one hour and Ambala Cantt Railway station near to Bus Depot.

Mon, Wed, Sat Train Uhl Hw Link Jsh (12064) Departs: 7:33 AM from Chandigarh (CDG)

Arrives: 1:55 PM at Haridwar Jn (HW) is available and you can find easy reservation in it.

Other trains can be find here http://www.90di.com/travel/index.html#search_type=form_ro ute_searchANY

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately that train does not line up with my schedule. So I guess the final question: bus or train to Ambala and transfer to Haridwar, or bus all the way? Which ever way is better I will take.

I think bus to Ambala and train to Haridwar is the best option. You need to be in the train station at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Book your train ticket in advance.
