Hi all,
We would normally visit South India in February. However,we're contemplating a visit for 2 weeks from the middle of Sept this year. We'd like to head back to Sth India,but...am unsure whether the monsoon would of passed over by then?Any help would be appreciated.TIA

East or West? Makes all the difference. Kerala or TN?

TN will probably be as dry as a bone, waiting and hoping for its monsoon. West of the hills, I think it will be over or nearly over. Hmmm, I think it was still raining last September. Somebody from those parts will be here soon, I hope!

Wait on the Kerala folk for feedback, then. If it was me, I'd go!

In the meantime, google your nearest city and climate, and you could well find find monthly-average charts. However, past history is no guarantee of future performance!

Enjoy the trip. I'll be there for a few days in a couple of weeks

We were. And it was dreadfully hot. Even for a Chennai guy!

I'm never again going to suggest that people from cold climes visit Kerala in April! Not without AC rooms!

Exclamation

For the most part my trips to the south have started in September or October and both Kerala and Tamil Nadu have been dry as a bone at those times. The wettest it's been in my experience in Kerala has been in late October or early November but I find the rains refreshing and it does not rain every day. GO!
Three years ago in the South I was WISHING for rain because it was so hot and dry.

I don't think there is any rain schedule that is set in stone anymore so checking the weather is always a good thing as nycank suggests.
