how far in advance to yall usually book your tickets before going to india?
me and my boyfriend (who's from mumbai) were planning to go in november, and we'd had just about gotten all our $$ saved and were about to buy our tickets, but then we had to send the $ over to india for an emergency medical procedure for his dad.
we still really want to go in november, but it will take us a few months to get enough money saved again...so when do you think is the latest we could book and still get a decent price? (we're coming from the US)
what airlines to yall like to use?

It took me only about a day of searching to find a really cheap flight from Canada - India with return ($1300 CDN), I'm sure you can do even better coming from the US!

Good luck~

Tickets

Hello,

You can find cheap tickets even about couple weeks ago. Some of the great websites are

http://farechase.yahoo.com/
http://www.cheaptickets.com/App/Home?z=3ae1&r=rk
http://www.air-gorilla.com/Engine/

I went in Feb 2006 to India and I paid about $1160.00 incl. taxes from Charlotte, NC to Delhi.

Good Luck for your trip!!!

Go to an Indian travel agent wherever you are (especially if you are in New York) and you will generally get the cheapest tickets to India!!! They generally do volume sales so they tend to give a lot of discounts to the passengers. November is the time when most people are travelling to India so you will generally not get tickets at the last moment so please buy your tickets much in advance as everyone is travelling to India for the Diwali holidays. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.
