I would be most grateful if anyone could recommend a reputable & reasonable car company that they have used for this trip. We are a family of 3 adults & are looking for a trip from January 18th to 21st. We plan to go directly from Bangalore airport to Hampi (staying 3 nights), with day trips to Lepakshi or Badami if possible & time permits. Any help would be most welcome.

When are you landing in Bangalore? There is an overnight train from Bangalore to Hospet (Hampi Express) with 16 seats available in 3A as of now for 18th January and 14 seats for 19th January. Leaves Bangalore at 10:00 pm and reaches Hospet at 7:40 am.

You could check with Indian Panorama. They have been recommended in the forum in the past.

I would say if you want to do a day trip then consider Badami instead of Lepakshi since the latter is at quite a distance from Hampi. Also I think there is enough in Hampi to keep you occupied for full 3 days.

Thanks.... I have been quoted around 15,000 to 19,000 for my plan which includes a trip just to Badami. Is that reasonable?

Could you give us more information to answer your question? How many days? Which car? What are included in that quote?

Why drive down to Hampi? It's a slightly long trek and I'm told the roads aren't great. The overnight train in this case is a much better option (far less tiring) and even if you book the most expensive class both ways you will pay around 8,000 for the round trip for all three of you. Any decent hotel in Hospet will be able to arrange a car/driver for a trip to Badami and it should still work out significantly cheaper on the whole.

AC Innova for 3 full days starting Jan 18th from Bangalore airport to Hampi, staying the 19 & 20th there & returning to Bangalore airport on the 21st. Imwas also looking at Taxiguide. In which seems to be much cheaper than the others.

Looks a bit on the higher side. Are the other charges also included like toll charges, parking charges, driver's overnight charges?

It does include driver & overnight charges. Trains are not an option due to time contraints & connections.
