Moved on to The Undoing Dance.

Can't tell how accurate the history is, as it is all new too me. Not surprised, though, to read that the devadasi women were not liberated but oppressed. And, of course, missionary vultures were nearby to devour the children. Oh, sorry, of course I should have said to save them from a heethern life of sin and depravity.

Anyway, we have the devadasi woman, the devoted Brahmin husband, the detesting poisonous mother-in-law... Etc...
