in the old movie Chupke Chupke, starring Dharmender, movie begins at a guest house at some hill station. Landscape suggests that it's western ghats. can anyone advise the most likely location of that guest house ( even if that guest house would have turned into something else now )

What a marvellous movie, and one of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's and Bengali-Hindi cinema's finest. Your post spurred me into watching it fully on YouTube last night, after years.

Nice retrospective review here, though I disagree with his overall take that it was simply an 'all smiles' movie. I guffawed a few times. Om Prakash and Dharmendra at their best.

It is a beautifully directed Shakespearean comedy of errors, and though the climax and the resolution were a little weak, it is a heart-warming and satisfying film, even after all these years. Gorgeous songs and music to boot!

I agree with you, it is set in the Western Ghats (cheapest from Bombay). I would presume Mahabaleshwar or Panchgani. It could be Rajesh Hotel, Dreamland Hotel or the Brightland Resort. Hard to say, exactly, as India has moved on considerably, and nowhere in the film are there any references to the place.

Maybe the WWTPT (2) experts could decipher.
