I have been asked to recommend to a couple coming to India for the first time some books on travelling in India ( not fiction or politics or..say Discovery of India ). Three titles come to my mind , any others ?

Are You Experienced - William Sutcliffe

Holy Cow - Sarah McDonald

Travels on My Elephant - Mark Shand

Well..i would have recommended "City of Djinns" By William Dalrymple but its not really travel narrative as such and confined to Delhi. If your readers are from the west, then holy cow may be the choice and that author did travel around India. Can't think of any other travel narratives as of now.
