Good Morning! I will be traveling to India and Nepal next November 2016. I never traveled overseas and will be traveling alone as a single woman. I'm a runner and would like to sign up for an ultra that is taking place there in Garden City, Bangalor. I would be flying into New Delhi and then would take a flight there. Would like to know if it would be safe to travel there and run the race while exploring the area? What other parts of India are "safe" that I could travel for a week. Would love to hear thoughts, and ideas. Thanks!

Mumbai is closer then Delhi to fly into unless you want to see the Taj.

Mysore is only 3 hours away from Bangalore by bus. It's a very easy going city for a first timer to India with a marvelous Palace and nice market. Maybe you could train by running up Chamundi Hill to the temple! Also in the area is Ooty up in the mountains. And don't worry, most places are totally safe!

You could use the search function on this forum to look up information shared as threads. In case that doesn't help, form a rough cut itinerary and post it here and others will help refine that. Also, there's safety advice shared previously, etc. Please search on single women safety, dressing tips, etc.
