Byalkere bird sanctuary
9 Attachment(s)
There is this little known bird sanctuaty called Byalkere in north west part of Bangalore.
Drove down yesterday and it took only half an hour from Yeshwantpur. It is actually a Peacock Sanctuary where you need prior permission to go inside.
We just loitered around the periphery and spotted a few birds. While we did hear many peacocks, couldnt spot them from the periphery.

Its a refreshing morning drive and a good change from the urban chaos of Bangalore. The best time to be there would be around 6-630 am

Byalkere is 13 kms from Yeshwantpur. Reach Yeshwantpur circle and then head towards Mathikere. Go past the flyover to BEL circle. Carry on straight through Jalahhali east, Vinayak Nagar and Dodda Byalkere.

That is a good find. With permission can we take vehicles inside? Or go birding walking?

I think you have to walk after taking permission. I didnot go inside. I did see a small trail inside but doubt vehicles will be allowed inside
