Hi Experts ,
I am planning a trip to Vizag with my hubby and 2 year old daughter in the 2nd week of December 2017.

My plan is :

9th December – Will reach Vizag around 8-8:30 am. (Haritha Resort in Rishi Konda Beach)
10th December –Relaxing in Vizag
11th December –Araku(by Kirandul Express)( APTDC Haritha Mayuri Resort )
12th December – Araku to Vizag by car.
13th December – flight to home .

As I have gone through several threads here , what I understand a trip to Araku is must and that must be by Train.
I cannot think beyond that with my little princess .
Now my problem here is , if I return to Vizag by train it will be quite late (at least to get food for my 2 year old baby girl ).
More over next day I have my flight to Kolkata in the early morning .

So my questions are :

Is it possible to return from Araku to Vizag by car?
If possible how to book that car(any contact no)? Should I book it in advance?
What could be the approximate cost ?
Finally is it safe to travel in car in this area?

On 12th December I want to stay in a hotel near to Airport , if anyone have any information of good hotel please let me know.

I did this in the evening ( A to V) by car. I don't normally do that as the risk increases so its possible. It was part of a round trip excursion so I don't have useful info for you on obtaining a driver there..

Hi @Grupai,

Just a month ago, I did this trip with 9 month old son. Having a child, I didn't make plans to tiring any day and the details (if you want) you can get from my blog post on Araku-Vizag given in my signature.

Answers for your questions:

1. Theoretically it is possible to return from Araku to Vizag by car. Having a baby would not be difficult as cars actually takes less time than trains and at the same time, seems tiring though. Booking cars from Araku is difficult. Hence, if you want cars, make both side trips by car or trains.

Cars can be booked from Vizag (Contact: http://www.crazy-cabs.com/cabs.html)

My suggestion: Contact Mayuri for cabs for Araku-Vizag trip and if no cabs booked, then book cabs from Vizag

2 and 3. See this link http://www.crazy-cabs.com/cabs.html for details (contact, fare etc.)

4. It is completely safe and road condition is also very good.

5. Hotel options: Shree Lakshmi Guest House or Sai Balajee's Oriental Hut near airport. But, I would suggest any other beach road hotels as even in that case, you can easily reach airport within half an hour booking an Ola cab, which is frequently available in the city.

The train to Araku is not on atleast for a month, maybe more due to repair works.
The report in Hindu says 3 months.
Do keep the above in mind while planning.
Sar Pass Trek , Rohtang, Munnar, Badrinath Kedarnath, Vaishnodevi, Goa, VOF, Kedarkantha, Kuari Pass, Brahmatal Trek
