Vizag Itinerary in mid-april
Hello mikers,
Would request to suggest iternary (light) for my travel with my family (me, wife and 3 year kid) to Vizag. Albeit 2 more couples (friends) would be accompanying us, so technically we are 6 adults with a kid.
Would be landing at Vizag Airport on 11th April (Friday) @ 3:00 pm & returning on 15th April (Tues) @ 9:00 am departure. So, 4 overnight stays. Intending to stay at 2 locations (2 nights each) only/ 1 location 4 nights. Thinking of Rishikonda beach resort for at least 2 nights/ 4 nights and tour around.
Would be avoiding the Araku Valley iternary & concentrate on Vizag near abouts only. Looking forward for suggestions.
thanks and regards,
pomz

Haritha Resort at Rishikonda is really nice. Ask for a room with "SeaView". I don't really have a suggestion for the other 2 nights.
Do remember that Vizag in April will be steaming hot. High humidity will make you uncomfortable.

You should stay at Rishikonda, though it is slightly out of town, but it has the best views of the ocean, the location is great. Besides , its the only beach where you can safely take a bath.
Even if you do not go to Arakku, and I think Arakku is a highly over hyped destination, a visit to the Borra Caves is suggested, it is worth it. One option is to spend one night in one of APTDC's properties near Borra, Anantgiri, and visit Borra caves. You can spend the other day's in the usual sightseeing of vizag, but its going to be hot. Do not miss the submarine, and kailashgiri, and if you have kids the aquarium. In the heat you can give the other places a miss.

Thanks a lot aruna and pap. However, seems scared about the weather description.
So say Rishikonda stay on 11th and 12th April. So, what about stay on 13th and 14th at Vizag only? How are the charges/ rates of commuting (Auto/ Innova/ others) - any reliable contact person / no of driver. Whether prepaid cab service is there from airport ?
Any must in food joints ? shopping stores (typical of local) . etc.

Apart from Rushikonda, you can stay a day or two in APTDC Anantgiri, it is slightly up in the hills and should be comfortable, and use the time to visit the Borra caves. There is an eating place at Rushikonda called sea inn, not a fancy place but the food is supposed to be great. It is run by an elderly couple and is highly reccommended by all but be prepared for long waits . April is off season, so you should not have problems with cars. There are autos to go to the city from Rushikonda, but slightly difficult in the evening because it being out of city limits. Similar Threads
