hi everyone,
i am new to indiamike but find the information available incredible and overwhelming.

I am planning a short trip to vizaq-araku from kolkata during the first week of august and i have the following questions

1)i want a hotel near a picturesque beach so that i can take nighttime photos at the beach or early morning photos, which hotel will you recommend? any average a/c hotel with good view will do.i thought of haritha beach resort. is there any better alternatives

2) can you help me with a brief itinerary to cover vizaq and araku comfortably. which are the places that i should not miss while there?

3)how is the aptdc rail road package of araku? is it better to go with them or of our own?

it would be very much helpful to me if you can provide me with answer to these as soon as possible.

regards
arka

Some years ago (in 2007) we did the tour with APTDC. It takes a long day in which we saw many great things but of course it takes a long time traveling.
But, certainly if you don't have many days, it is a good opportunity to visit Araku and the Bora caves.

Ditto the above. Vizag itself is a bit of a lesser site. The caves on weekends and school holidays may be a zoo..

Also don't forget to catch the "kirandaul passenger". The journey provides superb photo opportunity. You can see a glimpse in my signature.
Cheers
