@Sandip,

APTDC's Punnami resots at Rushikonda beach is tooooo Good (Location/Ambience) and from your bed you can see the Sunrise (Yes the rooms have a verryyyyy big window). Except few hours in the evening where tourists come, other time (Expecially in early monings the entire beach is yours) and it's Fantastic. We reached this place by taxi from Vizag Jn.

Only drawback might be you have to depends on the resort's restaurant which has less varities of food . As mostly you will be touring the locations, you can manage all 3 foods outside itself.

We took a Taxi For 2000 Rs (Sumo)(Arranged through hotel recepti
on) and visited Araku Valley + Borra Caves and it's good. This is 7 years back !

Hope this is of some help

In 2007 we did the APTDC tour from Vizag to Araku.
Early in the morning by train to Simliguda and from there with a bus. A ride through the valley which includes a visit to the tribal museum and a botanic garden. On the way back to Bora Caves.
We saw much great things but it was tiresome.

@sandipsaha : I totally agree that the APTDC resort at Rishigonda beach is THE BEST place to stay, but I think it is already packed up for Oct. I was planning a trip myself in Oct 1st week, but had to change my plans due to lack of accommodation availability ... so try to book early in vizag if u are planning a trip in peak seasons.

A last thing I would like to mention - it is always advisable to continue queries regarding the same travel plan in the originally posted thread (more so when the thread has been started by you only, recently), rather than creating a new one everytime. Keeps the forums clean and discussions coherent.

Friendly piece of advice - don't mind

And have a nice trip!

Mod Note
Please do not keep starting new threads for each additional question. You had started three of them. I have merged the latest with this one you started a few days ago.

Is Araku/Tyda/Vizag Trip ok in September first week? Means is it advisable in rainy season?

Also are 3 days sufficient to cover everything?

I am planning to go next weekend.

Please suggest me regarding commutation to/from Araku/Borra/Tyda caves and staying there.

No, no, don't read too much in my comment. Actually I'm from Chakdaha and I know Payradanga very well from childhood days and and still now I have lot many friends staying at Pyradanga. I was just wondering whether if there is any other place also named as "Payradanga" in Kolkata! Just an inquisitiveness, nothing more.

As regards your proposed trip to Araku, I had been Araku twice. But that was almost a decade back. I can tell you what we did, but don't know whether that will help you or not. Here is what we did:

We boarded Cormondle Exp from Howrah and reached Vizag early morning next day. We did not go out of the Station. Got freshened up in the Waiting Room, bought ticket for Araku from the Daily Ticket Counter at the Station for Vizag-Kirandul Passenger. This train leaves Vizag Station at about 7 AM. Had a wonderful train jouney. Reached Araku at around 11 AM. Took an Auto from the Station and came straight to Mayuri Lodge, a Hotel run by AP Tourism Dev Corprn. Ltd. We stayed 2 nights there. With the help of Lodge Staff, had hired a cab and went around Araku local spots (Tribal Museum, Katiki Waterfalls, Padmapuram Botanical Gardens etc), as well as Borra Caves. Finally, we took Down Kirandul - Vizag Passenger, which comes around 3 PM at Araku and reaches Vizag at about 9 PM. We stayed at Vizag for 2 more nights and explored in and around Vizag. At the end, we took Down Madras Mail from Vizag and returned to Kolkata next day morning. And one thing more. Araku is not that a cold place. Weather was just fine, not very cold, not hot either. I had been there during October-Nov both times.

That's all we did.
