The Araku/Borra caves area is best visited in the July-Feb period when it is lush green and more like a Hill station. April-May will be hot and may not be enjoyable if you intend to spend time outdoors. Vizag being a coastal town is hot too.

Hi Swarupmondal,

Thank you so much for your valuable suggestions. Actually we 6 will be travelling for this trip including my handicapped father. Will it be a hectic journey for us or it is easily manageable? How much will it cost per person? I think the last day journey( as per your itinerary) will be a troublesome one.I don't know actually,I don't have any idea about that place.Could you be please more informative? Is it necessary to book hotels, train seats priorly from kolkata?or you suggest to go with any travel agent.you have not mentioned about Bora Cave sight seeing in this trip...will it be included in that?

My suggestion for you first you reserve 3AC coach for Vizag, because in sleeper coach, too many people came and rush in every sleeper coach from orisha. So, I request you please do not reserve for sleeper coach. Secondly dont contact any travel agent in kolkata because it is offseason for vizag and araku. In vizag you contact Hotel Moria, just 5 minites from Railway station. Contact Number of Hotel Moria (0891) 2731112, 2732426,2730788,3257053. It is a budget hotel and very nice hotel. It has no any inhouse restaurent. So you lunch and dinner at Nimantran Restaurnet just beside Hotel Moria. It is a pure bengali restaurant and budget catagory, thali system. In the after noon you may proceed for Yarada beech , it is a nice beach. and next day you visit 1)Simlachalam,
2)Bheemli Beach,
3)Red sand Hills,
4)Rishikonda Beach,
5)Indira Gandhi Zoological Park , (in toy train)
6)Kailash Giri, (in rope way).
7)Submerine Meusium,
8)Aquariam,
9)Ramakrishna Beach.

For Car booking you may contact Mr. Umanath 094905 45492 / 093932 65822 (Mr. Umanath) and it must be Ac car. I suggest you please dont contact any travel agent. Actually my trip plan was vizag- araku-Jagdalpur (Chhatisgarh). Next time I suggest you for for next day plan. OK

Cool Stay at Rushikonda instead of RK beach

At vizag it is beyond doubt wisest to stay at Rushikonda at the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development corporation resort- Haritha. It has the best location. Also RK Beach does not even come in comparison to the ecstatic beauty of Rushikonda.
I wonder why I wander...

Hi Debasish,

Enjoyed the snaps in the link....just fabulous.
A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.

there are city buses that go from vizag to simhachalam, almost all the way up the hill to the temple.
If you want organized tours, AP tourism corporation does day tours of araku and borra.
