Hi all,

I am visiting Tirupati on 20th Sept, Monday, and need some information regarding the same. I would reach on Monday night, and I am planning to visit Tirumala on next day morning on Tuesday.

1. When I reach Tirupati, from where should I take the darshan tickets ?
2. I have heard there are these “SheeghraDarshan” tickets, from where can we get it ? What is the process for same.
3. All family members need to be present while taking the ticket ?
4. When should I reach Tirumala for darshan in the morning ? When does the darshan opens ?
5. On an average, how much time should the darshan take ?

Thanks for helping with these questions.

Regards
Puneet

This site should answer most of your questions.

http://www.tirumala.org/darshan.htm#specialdarshan

Average darshan varies depending on rush.
Last Thursday (9th Sept), it took about 2hours for SheeghraDarshan.
Ticket Rs 300/-

1. These tickets are available at or close to all disembarkation points - rail, bus. Airport i am not sure, but should be.
2. These are the Rs.50 or 100 tickets or more, its been a while since i have been there.
3. All the members should be present as finger print and photo will be taken.
4. Darshan is open at all times except a 2 hour rest late at night.
5. The Darshan takes about 3 hours at normal times from the time you enter the queue to the time you come out. The darshan system is efficient now in the sense that it indicates the time that you need to enter the queue. So you are not stuck in the queue for a long time.

Pl note that Mobile phones, cameras and all electronic devices are not allowed in the temple. They are very strict with. If caught, the device is confiscated and not returned. Also dress modestly at all places in tirumala. (This is the hill that the temple is located.

Also note that the annual Brahmotsavam is currently on till 19 Sept. So expect a lot of rush though you are going for darshan 2 days later.

Stood in the queue at 8:00PM and at 9:00PM after the break VIP darshan (From 7:00pm to 9:00pm is break VIP darshan) the line started to move and we bought the tickets at around 9:20pm and by 10:00pm we were out after having a darshan.

Rs 300/- was the ticket charges for this darshan.

All members should be there in the queue and no photo or fingerprint were taken.

Not by much. The Brahmotsavam rush can be expected for atleast 4-5 days after the last day. Although it being a Tuesday rush will be less compared to other days of the week.

So, do you think I should go on Monday night or Tuesday morning ? How much time should I expect given there is brahamotsava ?

Its better to plan for the darshan on Tue or Wed or even thur. Mis week is always a little more comfortable. The later the better. Avoid Fri/Sat/Sun.

I went for Darshan on Tuesday morning, and they were superfast. I completed darshan (using 300 Rs. ticket) in about 90 minutes.
