Hi,

I am planning to visit the holy pilgrimage of Sri Venkateswara in Tirupati in mid Nov this year. I would be grateful to those who can share the process of getting the darshan ticket for the same? Is it true that one needs to book a darshan ticket well in advance for this?
Thanks

If you want a hassle free darshan, check the APTDC or TTDC Tirupati tour. They will organize everything for you. All you need to do is pay them and board the bus.

First Time visitor to TRUPATI

If You are visiting TIRUPATI first time you better take the AP tourism tour . Tirupati is a very overcrowded Pilgrimage place and first time visiotors are likely to face lot of Hassles . But all information is available on the TTD ( Tirumala Trupati Devasthanam website . If you are ready to face difficulties, it is not impossible for a first time visitor to Visit Tirupati.

Hi,

You can travel to Tirupati and take tour by TTD. At Tirumala, you have to be on your own, mostly. You can book your darshan timing online OR go to TTD office at Delhi. You can even book accommodation for upto 3 nights online.

Maybe it depends on when you go. I faced very little trouble doing it all on the spot. However, there is a good bit of extra expense in bypassing lines. My spouse did that and ignored my parsimonious nature. Sometimes its better for a husband to take orders..

Rishikesh has a TTD Andhra Ashramam at LJ Road. These mostly offer advance darshan and accomodation reservation at Tirumala. Find out on phone if they do and then all members who plan to have darshan need to go for their fingerprint scans.

Hi
There is no online darshan booking. Don't be confused. You can only book for sevas or pujas performed in the temple. so that you will get darshan at the end of seva or puja.
APTDC is conducting package tours to Tirumala. They have got 1000 darshan slots every day. But they are using only 400.
TTD is giving 15000 darshan slots for the pedestrian pilgrims. You have to take a walk either from Alipiri or from Sri Vari Mettu near Srinivasa Mangapuram to Tirumala. Get a token and have a darshan.

eDarshan can be booked online. It requires photograph of each person to be uploaded.

Summer vacations for colleges have started in AP. May be a similar situation with schools/colleges in TN and KA (the major source of pilgrim crowd at Tirumala). Expect it to ONLY get more crowded and longer for darshan. If you choose weekends or holidays, then it will take longer. Bangalore has a TTD kalyanamandapam where they do advance booking for all types of darshan and for accommodation as well.

Kalyanam tickets are very difficult to get. People book as much as a year in advance.
However, e-sudharsanam tickets are issued everyday as already posted. But they are limited and you have to be in the queue early in the morning (before 7 am, typically).

If you go by walk, then you can get Divya Darshanam tokens (free) and darshan can be as less as 3 hours. Last Friday, we walked and had darshan in less than 4 hours. Walking in the most relaxed manner took about 5.5 hours. Enroute, TTD provides free meals (for us it was sambar rice and buttermilk).
