Hi

Myself is going to thirupati with min 20 persons in my family.

Before going to thirumala, we wanted to go to near by thirupati like alamelu manga, kalakasthi, etc,. yet to plan for the same for places.

we are going by train and getting down in the thirupati railway station. Stay is not a problem for me.

Need guidance for below items:-
1. How to book the van with min 15 to 20 seater for my family for the one day travel. any good place to book for that travel?
how to approach ?

2. What are the near by places like i mentioned above ( i have one day for that )

Thanks

To visit some of the nearby places, there is a Tour bus run by the TTD that tours these different temples in and around tirupati. This bus is available at The Srinivasam Choultry next to the bus stand and Sri Venkateshwara Choultries behind the Railway station. That is the best option. The tours ensures quick special entry to all temples and quick darshan as well.

Otherwise there are a lot of Taxi/Maxicab services for hire in and around the Bus stand and railway station.

Just got back from tirupati 2 days back, there are plenty of prepaid taxis and other transport available just opposite to the railway station. Have a wonderful spiritual trip.

I don't remember seeing an advance booking mechanism. You can spot book. Reach a bit early so that you are ahead in the queue.

If by down-thirumala (Tirumala is on the hill where the main temple is located) you mean holy places around tirupathi then you have the options to visit Srikalahasti & Kanipakam which are around 40 & 70 kms from tirupathi respectively. Within tirupathi if you want to visit some holy places you can visit Govindarajswamy Temple(which is very near to the railway station) , Srinivas Mangapuram & Alamelu Mangapuram (both are around 20 kms from tirupathi. Hope this info is sufficient to plan your itinerary..

Hi, I have been visiting tirupati quite often, but it used to be one straight drive to tirupati, finish my seva and back to bangalore. This time around I was in a mood to explore more places around tirupati, so me and my wife left bangalore on 23rd july 2011, headed towards tiruttani via chennai route road was pretty good till wallajha then we entered wallajha road was ok not very bad, had our brakfast at wallajha then headed towards tiruttani. We could drive the car upto temple had a quick darshan of lord subramanya by buying ticket of Rs.100 each, tiruttani was one of the six important abode or lord subramanya. We headed towards nagalapuram on the route from tiruttani to tirupati. This temple is in vijayanagar style built by the kings of vijaynagar, huge temple complex know for the sun rays falling on the lord on 26th to 28th march every year, this temple is managed by TTD. lord is in mathsya awatara. Road is pretty good, temple is good and attracts quite a few visitors. The name nagalapuram is derived the name nagalamba mother of King Krishnadevaraya.

Driving to tirupati from nagalapuram was pretty good. I had missed on visiting suruttupalli where lord shiva is in human form. This is suppose to be the only temple in south india where lord shiva is in human form, may be I will visit next time. I stayed at hotel bliss at thirupati, I had read reviews on tripadvisor, so had made prior booking. Property is good, but the room was not clean, the bathroom had yellow stains all around, any way had no choice we stayed their.

Next day I headed towards Kalahasti which is 30kms from tirupati, road is good. A very important temple for rahu dosha and sarpa dosha, being sunday quite a big crowd was their. Bought special darshan tickets, had good darshan, headed to padmavati mangapuram, we had to face a huge rush, but managed darshan with the help of tickets, back to hotel packed our bags headed towards tirupati. I had booked for vishesha pooja next day. I had also booked for rooms, as such did not face any difficulty got the accomodation, stayed their, next day we were at vaikuntam at 5.30am the vishesha pooja ritual was from 7.00am to 8.15am witnessed it, had a very peaceful darshan of Lord Venkateswara, and headed back to bangalore
