I was working with a IT company in chennai, whose HQ is in Hyderabad. Sometime back, I quit my job and filed to withdraw my full PF amount (an ample sum), its currently with the PF office of the AP govt. Its 3 months hence and I have not received it, usually with Tamilnadu PF office, we receive it within 3 months. Does it usually take longer with the AP Govt??

In 1.5 months time I will be going abroad for long term and I am in need of it before I leave. Any ideas of how to get it done ?

I was thinking of directly going & speaking to the authorities, but was mulling if they might ask (demand a bribe) for a percentage of my PF amount to give clearance. Is there any other viable option?

IIRC, PF is a central govt deduction and has nothing to do with state govts.

It is managed by state provident fund commissioners. In most of the states now , you can track status of your PF WITHDRAWAL online. It got my PF back from Bengaluru office in 3.5 months.

It is managed by PF commissioners in each state, but the organisation is EPFO (Employees PF organisation) under the Ministry of Labour, GOI.

BTW found there links for Foreign citizens:

EPFO in tamilnadu is very advanced nowadays.

If your claim reaches their office, you get a sms, when your payment is approved, you get a sms

From there in 2 -3 days you get the payment into your bank account.

Probably in AP it takes a while due to a huge number or something. You can track your status online. If you go directly, you will not be asked for a bribe and all, but you will never get a answer.

Do follow it up with your ex employer. Its his duty to follow it up until you get the payment. Are you pretty sure that your employer has paid the complete amount to PF office. I am talking about the employer part.

It normally happens that the organizations does pay their PF part slowly or sometimes they dont send your application at all.
