Hello everyone,
I am planning to visit Vizag and Araku alongwith my wife for a short trip in the month of August. After extensively searching the indiamike forum, I have prepared my own itinery. I would request all you guys to have a look at the undermentioned itinery and suggest necessary changes/modifications:

14th Aug(tuesday) - Catch the Falaknuma Exp from Howrah at 07:25 hrs and reach Vizag at 21:10 hrs. It is also possible for me to catch East Coast Exp which leaves Howrah at 11:45 hrs and reaches Vizag at 03:45 hrs. But I am a bit concerned. This is because I have to catch the Visakhapatnam Kirandul Exp the next morning at 06:50 hrs and if East Coast lives upto to its reputation I might very well be left starnded. So, I prefer to book Falaknuma. East Coast is my 2nd choice in case the remaining 2 seats of Falaknuma's 2nd AC coach gets booked by the time I make my booking tomorrow morning (IRCTC's server is currently down) .............. Reach Vizag at 21:10 hrs. Overnight stay at Vizag. Kindly suggest me some budget hotels very close to the railway station so that it is convinient for me to catch the train early next morning. Booking Anupama Hotel near Diamond Park through cleartrip.com may be an option.

15th Aug (wed) - HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY. Catch the Vizag Kirandul Exp from Vizag at 06:50 hrs. Reach Araku at 10:50 hrs. Local sightseeing and overnight stay at APTDC Mayur Resort as reccomended by most of the members of Indiamike.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW FAR IS THE ARAKU RAILWAY STATION FROM MAYUR RESORT AND HOW TO REACH THERE

16th Aug (Thurs) - Visit the Botanical gardens in the wee hours of morning amidst the misty weather. Book a cab from Araku and reach Tyda Jungle Resort at Borra. If possible, enjoy the tribal dance in the evening.Overnight stay at Tyda Resort.

17th Aug (Fri)- Visit the Borra caves. Have lunch near it. Catch the Kirandul Vizag Exp at 16:10 hrs from Borraguhalu and reach Vizag at 20:40 hrs.PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW FAR IS THE BORRAGUHALU RAILWAY STATION FROM TYDA/BORRA CAVES AND HOW TO REACH THERE

HERE IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT INSTEAD OF STAYING AT BOTH MAYUR RESORT AND TYDA RESORT, I CAN MAKE ANYONE OF THEM MY BASE AND VISIT THE OTHER PLACE AS A DAY-TRIP.BUT BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISION ON THIS PART I NEED THE SUGGESTION OF YOU GUYS.KINDLY SUGGEST ME WHICH OF THESE TWO RESORTS IS THE BETTER ONE AND WOULD BE WORTH THE MONEY TO STAY AT.IF BOTH ARE EQUAL ENOUGH, I WILL STICK TO MY ORIGINAL DECISION OF PUTTING UP AT BOTH THE RESORTS.

After reaching Vizag, proceed to the Rishikonya APTDC Resort. Overnight stay.

18th Aug(Sat) - Enjoy the beauty of the Rishikonya Beach as I have heard a lot about its beauty.Take a sea-bath. Check-out from the resort.Book a cab. Visit Beemli Beach, red Sand Hills and Totlakonda. Go to Kailsh Giri APTDC hotel. Overnight stay.

HERE IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT I WANT TO CHOOSE TWO DIFFERENT RESORTS TO PUT UP FOR 2 NIGHTS IN VIZAG BECAUSE I HAVE HEARD THAT THE RISHIKONYA APTDC RESORT IS FAR AWAY FROM THE CITY AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO COMMUTE FROM THERE. AT THE SAME TIME I DONOT WANT TO MISS THE BEAUTY OF RISHIKONYA BEACH AND THINK THAT IT CAN BE BEST ENJOYED IF I PUT UP AT THE ADJACENT RESORT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW GUYS WHETHER I HAVE MADE THE CORRECT DECISION OR SHOULD I MODIFY MY PLANS AND STICK TO JUST ONE RESORT

19th Aug (Sun) - Visit Vizag port area, Yarada Beach, Ross Hill, light house etc. Have dinner at one of my relative's place who stays at Vizag.(I dont know the exact location). Catch the East Coast exp from Vizag at 23:55 hrs and reach Howrah at any time the next day.

MONDAY IS ID-UL-FITR AND HOLIDAY. SO, I DONT MIND TRAVELLING BY EAST COAST.

Guys, I am eagerly waiting for your valuable inputs. IRCTC is still down. God knows whether I will be able to manage the tickets or not.

[B][B]Mayur resort is about 1.5 kms before the railway

station. There are lots of jeeps waiting to carry

passengers. Get into a Sharing type one. Cost per

person should not be more than 15 rs.
Vizag over night stay, Try Hotel Dwarka INN, Its

near the Station. Auto will charge you 40 rs to take

u to the Hotel. The Hotel is exactly beside BIG

BAZZAR. there are lots of UDIPI Hotels serving Idly

and dosas and Other famous south indian break

fasts near by to this hotel. Also its a Budget hotel.
Dwaraka inn is also near Diamond Park.

From TYDA its about some 25 kms. There are

Loads of Sharing type Jeeps if you would like to

share. Per person they charge about 30 to 50 rs.

But can be Crowded sometimes. I recommend you

to Visit the Water falls near to Borra caves as well.

They are nice to visit. Only Sharing JEEPS can go.

Cars cannot got to the place.
At Tyda there is Nothing!!! From S. Kota Outskirts

the Forest ( Ghats) Start. Tyda is on the Road side

on the way to Borra and araku.
If you are a nature lover and want to spend some

time in a safe place on a Hill then Tyda is the place.

If you are Adventerous you can sleep on the Roads

or on the mountains itself. U dont need TYDa for

that.. because all the way Everything Looks like

Tyda itself.

By the way its not Rishikonya ITS RUSHIKONDA as

in KONDA MEANS MOUNTAIN. SO RUSHI"S

MOUNTAIN.
