Hello. I am planning to visit the Belum caves Gandikota and hopefully Lepakshi first week December. Rough plan is as below

Day 1- Overnight train from Mumbai to Tadipatri reaching just after noon next day.

Day 2- Public/pvt transport to Belum caves. After site seeing public/private transport to Gandikota. Stay at APTDC Hotel or camping.

Day 3- Sunrise at Gandikota Gorge, fort visit, river visit, sunset and stay.

Day 4- Early morning to Lepakshi. Spend entire day at Lepakshi leaving in the evening to Bangalore airport. Late night flight to Mumbai.

I really need guidance with travel and a few other things. So here are the questions.

My question is mainly regarding ground transport. If I hire vehicle from Bangalore for 3 days we really are not doing any travelling on day 2. So how can I best travel on day 1 from train station to the caves and then to gandikota?

I came across freakouts camp site on the bank's of Pennar. Is it recommended for stay with kids in the group? They also have adventure package which includes kayaking. Would really appreciate feedback regarding the same.
Any other nearby places we can visit on day 2?

Can you recommend travel company based near Tadipatri?

Many thanks in advance for your valuable input.

The road from Tadipatri to Gandikota used by public transport passes close to Belum. I'd suggest you revise your itinerary as follows:

You will cover the Tadipatri temples on this day. Walk or hire a rickshaw. Distance between temples is 15 mins stroll.

Take a bus heading north from Tadipatri that will pass Kolimgundala. Continue onto Belum from here. You should get some transport easily.
Return to Kolimgundala after the caves and catch a bus to Jammalamadugu which is the connecting town to Gandikota. Buses from Tadipatri to Jammalamadugu will stop at Kolimgundala.
From Jammalamadugu you can take a bus to Gandikota or a rickshaw from old bus stand. The distance is 15kms.
Book the APTDC resort at Gandikota well in advance.
You will be at Gandikota well before sunset so you can spend the evening there.

You may leave Gandikota in the 10am bus to Jammalamadugu after sunrise captures and breakfast. The next bus is at 3pm, so you may need to hire a rickshaw otherwise.
There is no direct connection from Jammalamadugu/Tadipatri to Lepakshi. The only option is to head to Anantapur. This is a 3-4 hour travel by road. Hindupur (roadhead for Lepakshi) is a further 4 hours from Anantapur.

You can alternately hire a vehicle from Tadipatri to cover this stretch. Unfortunately cannot help with travel agencies. I used the bus throughout.
