Trip to Andamans-Pain of planning and the pleasure of perseverance

Dear All,
-I have been planning trip to Andamans for the past five months.
-I shall pen down my confusions / problems in making itinerary, planning trip, booking tickets, accommodation etc etc as it happens to everyone who plan a trip tro this place.
-This thought occured to me at this moment , hence thought of sharing to make the process relatively easy for others.
-I acknowledge the inputs taken from IMers especially params, ghosh.ruchira,AppuE,theyyamdancer ,kshastry and many other.
-Please bear with me for some delay as I am still gettinjg my thoughts organised, but thought of making this commitment right at this moment so that it will atleast force me to stick to it to some extent.

-As I was planning, the initial confusion was about the number of days for the trip.
-Initially planned for five days, should have been OK only for Port Blair and Havelock.
-Am I missing something?, am I hurrying up?.
-I need to cover Baratang. Yes I felt the period was short, extended to eight days.
-No ,still not satisfied, what about Ross and Smith islands?, what about parrot island?. And what about the beautiful Neil island?.
-I just could not say no to these, finally decided for 12 days including two journey days.
-As I was taking time to decide, the flight charges were slowly taking off the ground, I thought if not now I may find it difficult to book once they take off and are up above in the sky.
-Immediately before thinking anything else, booked tickets for me and my wife both to and fro . That was on 06-08-2013. Total fare for both of us for the round trip, I paid Rs. 13580/-
-The present fare when checked today, for the same is 39020/- only!!!!!!.
-I know you would not beleive hence attached the images. So decide early and book early.

I believe you.

I booked in May for a trip in January (Kolkata-Port Blair-Kolkata) for three people less than Rs 20,000. The prices now are near Rs 50,000. our's is also a 12 day trip. What are your dates?

Preparation

-Then came the bigger task. How to choose the places?, In what order should I start?, where should I end?. How should I travel?. Where to stay?. Should I take Tour operator services?.
-I searched and searched, read, reread on Andamans.
-The following links were of help apart from what I have mentioned above about IMers.
http://www.knowandamans.com/2013/03/...-andamans.html
http://sateesh-mane.blogspot.in/2011...n-islands.html

-First made a list of all places at Andamans that are of interest.
*Port Blair-Cellular jail (day visit +light and sound show), Samudrika, Sagarika, Chatam Saw mill, Japanese bunkers, Corbyn’s cove beach, Mini zoo, Central Agricultural Research Institute, Anthropological Museum, Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park-Jolly buoy, North bay, Ross island, Vipor island, Chidiyatapu.
*Havelock-Vijayanagar beach, Govindnagar beach, Elephant beach, Kala pathar beach, Radhanagar beach.
*Neil-Laxmanpur beach, Bharatpur beach, Sitapur beach, Howrah bridge.
*Baratang-Lime stone caves, mud volcano, Parrot Island
*Diglipur-Ross and Smith Islands, Turtle nesting

-It was hell of a job to exclude any.
-Then I prioritised , avoided if I personally felt are not worth the trouble (after reading heavily and visiting various sites and web search) or there is duplication of the scenery or activity and also wanted to avoid usual run of the mill types.
-The bold ones are the ones I finalised.

@ashima 301
-I have kept the non bold as optional if I get time.
Mainly people go to Jolly Buoy for snorkeling. This can be done at North bay combining with sea walking or at Elephant beach or at Neil island or at Ross and Smith island. All of these are supposed to be better copmpared to Jolly Buoy. Beauty also I think other places are much more beautiful. Jolly Buoy is likely to be crowded too.
