Hi Everyone,

Need some help for my trip

I have booked my tickets from 1/3/2015 to 7/3/2015, Kolkata to Port Blair
I want to visit the following places,
1. Port Blair - Cellular Jail, Jolly Buoy, Northbay/Ross island
2. Havelock - Radhanagar, Elephanta
3. Neil Island - Lakshmanpur, Sitapur, Bharatpur

Kindly suggest a good itinerary for the 6 nights, i will reach PB on 1/3/2015 at 11:30 am and leave for Kolkata on 7/3/2015 at 10:30am.

What are things that i have to carry?
Any general tips that you can think of.
Also suggest some good places for staying/eating at the above locations.
We are two, me and my wife.

Thanks in advance

Hello!

I have sketched a rough plan since I've already booked flight tickets. And now I need to finalize so that I can go ahead with hotel booking.

Here's my tentative itinerary

Day 1 : 13th of March (Friday)
Will be landing Port Blair around 12pm. Check in at hotel near Phoenix Bay, visit museums, cellular jail ( light and sound show) and other places in Port Blair.

Day 2 : 14th of March (Saturday)
Full day trip to Ross and North Bay island.

Day 3 : 15th of March (Sunday)
Leave for Havelock by Makruzz first trip. Check-in at hotel near Govind Nagar beach, visit Kala Pathar, Vijay Nagar and sunset at Radhanagar beach. (Snorkelling)

Day 4 : 16th of March (Monday)
Visit Elephant Beach and go for Scuba Diving And catch the last ferry to Port Blair. Shopping in the evening in Port Blair.
(Scuba Diving)

Day 5 : 17th of March (Tuesday)
Visit local places and board 12pm flight.

Now, after going through the posts here, I am wondering if I should include Neil Island in my list.

Other option (let me know if I am making it too complex)

Day 1(13th March): Catch ferry to Havelock after I land Port Blair. Reach Havelock by 3pm. Check-in and go to Radhanagar Beach.
Day 2(14th March): Early morning Scuba Diving at Elephant beach and then spend time in Vijaynagar, Govindnagar and Kala Pathar beach.
Day 3(15th March): Leave for Neil Island, halt or return back to Port Blair.
Day 4(16th March): Visit Ross and North Bay. And Port Blair places.
Day 5(17th March): Visit Port Blair places and return back.

Please help me finalize. I'll book hotels depending on my plan.

Thank you!

Suggestions:

1. If possible spend one night at Neil Island.
2. 2 Days are enough for Portblair.
3. If possible hire a bike in havelock. Its fun to ride with your wife and explore island on your own. Personal experience
(Rent: 2 years back 400/- + fuel)
4. If you want to completely customize your Itinerary you can contact Waseem of andaman excursion. He customized our whole andaman tour as per our requirements on our honeymoon.

Thank you Lost-Soul.

It's surprisingly the same rate now. I called Blue Bird resort guys and also read on other blogs, it's still 400/-.

And I don't have much time to visit Neil Island. Either I need to visit Ross and Northbay on first day and then visit Neil on 4th day. Any ideas?

Planning it on my own.

It was was just a suggestion. In given time frame your plan seems good. I personally liked Neil as it is less commercialized.

If you bargain you can get two wheeler scooter for 300rs in good condition at havelock
Competition has reduced the rates.
And generally 100rs petrol is more than enough for entire days trip like elephanta and radahanagar.

Do take the number of service provider in case the vehicle breaks down ..

@Kamcoolin: If you are an adjustable couple, then dont need to do go via travel agent. There are plenty of online websites which give some damn good offer for hotel bookings.
Take rates from there, make call to the hotel and see if you can make a better deal, else book online and enjoy discounts. Transportation and getting ferries is not such a herculean task. And if you stay in arbeeden bazar area, every thing is at walkable distance. And autoricksaw guys take to most of the tourist place nearby for rs 20 or so

Andaman Trip

Hello,
I am planning for a 2 weeks tour of Andamans. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids (10 yrs and 6 yrs), so I would be trying to make the trip to be more relaxing and less frantic. I am also interested to know if there are trips worth making to Nicobar.

Can you please help me with rough idea of the following:

1. Must see places
2. Must do activities (both for adults and kids )
3. Must eat food and Must visit restaurants
4. Best hotels in PB, Havelok and Neil Islands. My budget is an average 2000-3000 per day for accommodation, including breakfast.
5. An itinerary which I can plan for
