Hello People,

I have planned a trip to Andaman with friends, around last week of December. We have finalized most of the things, except a friend thinks North bay is safer, cheaper & has more options than Elephant beach for doing water activities. We plan on doing Scuba Diving & Kayaking mainly, maybe snorkeling as well. I have read that till recently North bay was the main center of activities and some even say it has better corals than Elephant beach, although water gets muddy very quickly. But a lot of better have rated Elephant better. Kinda confused !

Need opinion based on your experience or local familiarity.

Thanks
Aditya

I did sea walking in Elephant beach - slightly cloudy day and it got muddy quickly and the area that had corals was covered in some kind of protective net. A local told me that Northbay would have been better. Snorkeling in Neil was an experience - clear waters and nice corals / colorful fish. Even in the glass bottom boat ride that took us to the snorkeling point we could see things clearly.

Thanks for answering, I'm of the impression that since Havelock was opened for sports activities very recently and that it's a bit isolated, should mean that it's more cleaner with more marine life. Sea Walking generally has a protective net around the sea floor, so that explains your point. Maybe if someone who actually did scuba diving in Havelock gives feedback we might get some clarity.
