Visiting Agra in June
Namaste!
I'm spending a month in Rishikesh, and was planning to visit Agra, but since I'm doing a Yoga instructor course, I only have Sundays off. My arrival and departure dates are tight; I only have one day to go from Rishikesh to Delhi and catch my plane back when the course is over, and I arrive one day before the start date.
Do you guys think it is possible to go to Agra and return on the same day?
Is it a good idea to go on a Sunday?
Thank you!

Possible? Yes. Like most places, much better with more time, but if a day is all you have . . . and if Sunday is the day you have, then Sunday is the Perfect day to go

I think a shoe cover is provided along with a bottle of water with the Rs. 750 ticket.
Middle of the day in June just might be a blessing in disguise. Take a good hat with you to avoid sunstroke (not clear about whether umbrellas would be permitted, else even better for taking pictures as well as covering your head).
Yea, Dave, that's what I was trying to figure out, I didn't know that the trains on Sundays take at least 9 hours...
Maybe I can do an overnight trip? Go see the Taj very early, then come back... I'm looking at the must see India website, but I'm not quite sure what would be the best from-to stations...

I don't think that the train times are very helpful for you to do an overnight trip for an early Sunday arrival either. See http://indiarailinfo.com/search/1967/0/450
