Hi,

I've read the Taj is closed on Fridays is this true? Dam this was the day I intended to go, have to change my schedule if so.

Also does anyone know where I can get an offical guide and pre book a taxi to pick me up from the train station?

Thanks!

Yes closed on a Friday I'm afraid, There's a small tourist center at the Agra canntonmment station where you can book taxis and guides.

Yes, you are correct! Taj remains closed on Fridays!
You should be contacting ASI local office for official guide, though you could find one with ID card near Taj also!

You need not prebook cab as you could get one in plenty at railway station!

If you are alone you can also consider the Audio guide by Audiocompass. This is available for INR 105 for English language. For details refer - http://www.audiocompass.in/taj-mahal.html

However it lacks interaction but provides enough authentic details.

Do you think it best I just wait on the day and book when I get there? I know this way they will be offical guides and maybe won't pay so much more then booking online. Also is the office easy to find when you come out of the train?

I've changed my plans now so I go Delhi - Jaipur - Agra to make sure I am there on a Saturday, so lucky I found out about the Taj!
