Guide charges
What would be reasonable guide charges for a tour of Agra and Fathepur Sikri?

I think we were asked for 300/- for the fort tour alone in Nov 2016. We opted for the audio guide instead. Not sure about other places as didnt opt for a guide at the Taj or Sikandra. There wasnt one at Ait-ma-daulah. At Sikri went with the little book (Goodearth guide). My crib with most of these guides are they are trained by the state tourism department and provide half cooked colorful stories. ASI stopped training guides in 2010 or probably earlier and since then they have been phased out. If you find an ASI guide, you should hire him -they are invariably very reasonably priced (half or less compared to state tourism department), but also an endangered species.

Thanks Vaibhav for a quick reply.
I am in a dilemma - there is a highly recommended guide by the name of pankaj bhatnagar on TripAdvisor. Interestingly this guy doesn't quote a price and says pay whatever you feel like. This puts me is a difficult spot. I have parents with me and hence need a guide as audio tour will not work for them.
I am trying to assess what would be reasonable price if he is so much recommended. I searched and UP tourism charges 750 for a tour of Taj, Fort and Fathepur. - this confuses further :)
