Hi,

i will be in Delhi for two days on our way to Ladakh. we are a family of three, Delhi and Agra in two days sound overambitious!!! I am looking for day trips from Delhi to Agra, most of the tour operators have trips covering Agra and a few other places and reaching back late night to Delhi. we don't want to do too much in Delhi as we have 8 days in Ladakh, so want to keep the energy levels good for that. i saw that there are trains which leave early from Delhi to Agra and cover the distance in two hours. sounds good for me. but whats the mode of transport to come back after Taj mahal visit? Buses and trains seem to be scheduled in the evening. I have no intention to see Agra Fort and other tourist attractions.
can anyone help

Take a train to Agra, book a cab at the station for the trip period and back to Delhi.

If you can afford it take a car for the whole trip. Then you can decide which sites you want to visit.

I think it would be better to skip Agra if you are rushed for it. See it next when you are in India.

If seeing the Taj Mahal is a must then while returning yoy will have to take a bus. There should be buses from Agra to Delhi through out the day. If not from Agra then from near by Idgah.

As vonkla mentions if you hire a car it would be the best option. It will save physical as well as mental strain. You need to be fit physically as well as mentally for your Ladakh trip.

A car for one way would not be ideal since yoy will be charged for the return journey also.

Hire a cab for whole journey, start early morning latest by five, and you will have a comfortable trip. Also, Taj is closed on Friday.
